As part of Woodport's continuing War on Waste, seventeen of our very talented and passionate students have participated in a number of recycling workshops. Eight Year 5 students from 5/6B and 5M (Andrew, Jordan, Ebony, Ngaire, Jessie, Nina, Scarlett. and Piper) buddied up with nine Year 3 students from 3K ( Zac, Diesel, Olyvia, Beth, Brayden, Mia, Keylee, Zoe, and Leilani). Each pair (group) was allocated two classes and their task was to prepare a lesson that would inform and persuade students to use the recycling bins correctly.
Last week the students eagerly headed out to their allocated classrooms to deliver their lessons. The feedback from the teachers was that the students were outstanding. They presented confidently, involved their classes in activities and were knowledgeable. I am extremely proud of these students for their commitment to make our school and the world a better place and for the fine job they have done as environmental leaders of this school.
