Last Wednesday night, teachers, students and parents of Woodport PS attended the annual Tjudibaring AECG (Aboriginal Education Consultative Group) Awards night held at Erina High School. The awards night is to celebrate the achievements of Aboriginal students across a range of categories and also to acknowledge the work of community members and teachers. This year we had four students and Mrs Clayton nominated for awards. Proudly, we can announce that Kai was selected as an overall winner in the Performing Arts category, William in the Community Project category and Isabelle in the Cultural Participation category. Whilst Taylee S and Mrs Clayton did not win their categories, they were recognised for their fabulous work and we are proud of their achievements. During the night Kai sang a moving song, and was accompanied by his sister Taeya on guitar. Next year, we will again be looking to nominate more Aboriginal students who are outstanding in their chosen field. Well done everyone!
