Stage 3 have recently had a fantastic day participating in the C.A.R.E.S Bike Safety Program (Community And Road Education Scheme). We all learnt how to conduct a bike safety check, the road rules and consequences for breaking the rules. This day ensured that we all know how to stay safe when riding a bike on the road. The practical activities that followed gave us experience of riding on a mock road way which included traffic lights, roundabouts, pedestrian crossings and t-intersections. We even had our own bike license with demerits that were deducted for road infringements. Our favourite activity was in the afternoon when we had free time to go ride around the round-a-bouts, go over speed bumps and experience riding on the road, just like in real life. We had a great day and we would love to go there again! By Evie, Lauren and Tilly 6W
