Book Week Parade

Book Week will be celebrated on Friday 22 August, with this year’s theme being “Book an Adventure.” Throughout the week, students will immerse themselves in the joy of reading and explore the works of Australian children’s authors and illustrators, along with showcasing our talented Year 6 authors.

In the library, students will engage in a variety of activities including creating colourful displays, reading an array of books, participating in competitions, and sharing stories crafted by our Year 6 students for our younger learners.

On Friday 22 August, we will host a day filled with fun activities, including:

Book Parade: Students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character. Start planning your costumes now. Ideas include Where’s Wally, The Indoor Cat, Charlie and Lola, Charlotte from Charlotte’s Web, Harry Potter, fairy princesses, witches, wolves, or monsters. We invite all parents to join us for this vibrant celebration!

Scholastic Book Fair: Throughout the week, students can browse a selection of books in the library and create wish lists. Purchases can be made on Friday 22 August.

Jollybops Performance: Students will enjoy an engaging show with two different performances:

o

K-2: Move & Groove with Energy

o

3-6: The Big Chemistry Show

Assembly: A special assembly for K-2 and 3-6 will be held to present prizes for various competitions.

Book Week is one of the highlights of the Woodport calendar, promising a delightful experience for all. More details will be shared early next term. We can’t wait to celebrate the magic of books together!
