Transition to School

Welcome to Woodport Public School Kindergarten

Our dedicated staff work together to nurture, guide and challenge students to find the joy in learning. We aim for them to become independent, self-motivated and confident individuals.

In readiness for starting school, every year we run a Kindy Start program which is a unique opportunity to transition children into Kindergarten, allowing them to begin their school journey with confidence and success.

The program includes:

• 12 week school readiness program

• 2 ½ hour session per week

• dedicated classroom

• students become familiar with school environment

• fosters a network of friends

• improves confidence

• stimulates awareness and interest in reading, writing, maths and music

• develops fine and gross motor skills
