19 Nov 2021

On Saturday 19 November our senior Robotics team competed in the Greater Sydney First LEGO League Competition. The students performed with great confidence and gracious professionalism in their 30-minute judging session. The judges were extremely impressed with the team’s ability to collaborate and share their deep knowledge and understanding. The students won the Core Values category and were invited to progress through to the National Competition, where they will compete against 48 teams.
In a regular season, the team would have three months to prepare for this competition, but due to COVID 19 restrictions our students only had one month to finalise their core values PowerPoint, write journals, contact industry experts, innovate a challenge solution as well as code and test their robot to solve various LEGO missions. There is no doubt our team worked incredibly hard to complete these requirements in a short timeframe, which makes their win even more remarkable. Each student demonstrated amazing resilience, persistence, collaboration, flexibility and problem-solving skills and these learning dispositions will certainly benefit them moving forward.
We wish Lea N, Lazar N, Olivia M, Gertie R, Leilani, Gemma A, Josh S, Nate D, Toby F and Riley D all the best at Nationals, and we know they will represent our school with gracious expertise and a wonderful competitive spirit.
