5R

Welcome to 5R!

For those who I have not had the opportunity to meet, my name is Miss Rodwell. I am very excited to be teaching the wonderful students alongside the extraordinary staff at Woodport Public School again this year! 5R 2024 is my 4th class of my very own and I am feeling extremely lucky to be teaching this beautiful and talented group of students. This year’s Stage 3 staff are invested in ensuring that your children make the most of their schooling experience and always have the students’ best interests at heart.

I am very passionate about supporting all students to succeed academically, socially and emotionally. In 5R, our inclusive classroom environment is built around having a positive mindset and high expectations. We always give one hundred percent, do our personal best and believe in ourselves. These three values help us to set and achieve learning goals, be resilient and persistent and support each other. I am continuing to create positive relationships with all students to ensure that they can talk to me about support/extension for their learning, issues in the playground and anything else they are experiencing so they can focus on achieving their full potential. Our learning tasks involve differentiated, creative and critical thinking activities to equip your children with life-long skills to help them contribute to the world in meaningful ways.

I am very pleased with how 5R have settled into their new class and have adjusted to the expectations of Stage 3. 5R are looking forward to a wonderful year full of memorable experiences as we strive to meet our school expectations of being safe, respectful learners.

Here are some of our weekly activities:

Sports Day: Friday (please have hats, water bottles and appropriate shoes)

Library Day: Tuesday

Computers / Music Day: Tuesday

Scope IT: Wednesday (Term 1 from Week 3)

Fruit Break: We have fruit break sometime during the morning session. Please include a piece of fruit or vegetables that are easy to eat in your child’s lunch box each day.

Homework: Students will be completing reading comprehension, grammar, maths mentals and optional online Mathletics which will be set up shortly.

Assembly: Friday (even weeks) 2:10 pm.

Parent Communication: Open communication between us is very important. Should you have any queries regarding your child, please contact the office via phone or email to request an interview or send me a request or brief message on Sentral. As I am very busy throughout the school day teaching, attending meetings and other duties, I may not reply on the day. If it is urgent, please contact the office as I do not always get a chance to check Sentral throughout the day, however I will aim to get back to you as soon as I can.

I am looking forward to working with your children and meeting you all!

Kind regards,

Miss Claudia Rodwell
