Welcome to K/1B
We extend a warm welcome to students as we begin or continue our learning journey for 2024 at Woodport in K/1B. This year, Ms Bush and Mrs Risley will work together to support and provide guidance to develop and nurture students to grow to their full potential.
Sports Day - Year 1 have sport on Wednesday and Kindergarten have sport on Thursday. Please wear sports uniform, appropriate shoes and a hat on this day.
Library Day - Thursday
Computers / Music - Monday
Fruit Break - Students are encouraged to bring some fruit or vegetables that are easy to eat each day to school. Fruit break is usually in the morning session
Homework-
Kindergarten - Sight words (spelling), phonics and decoding (reading) and home reading books. Home reading books will be sent home on each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, sight words will be checked on a Thursday and phonics/decoding may be tested and changed on any day. Please ensure your child’s folders and books are in their bag daily to support their learning,
Year 1 - Homework is handed out each Monday and collected each Friday. Home reading books are changed each Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child’s books are in their bag daily to support their learning,
Assembly - Wednesday afternoons on even weeks from 2:05pm in the school hall.
Parent Communication- Please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs Risley or Ms Bush if you have any queries regarding your child. Please contact the office via phone or email to request an interview or send a message directly to Ms Bush on Sentral. As we are often busy during the day, please allow 24 hours for a response when sending messages via Sentral. If it is urgent please contact the office.
